In this two week online course, students will explore the college application process. Is your learner stuck on which schools to apply to? What about their college essays? Through this workshop, we will work on college lists and essays.

Homework
2-4 hours per week. Research on schools, along with work on personal essays is recommended, yet not required. However, I will say that people should spend some outside time on their essays!
Assessment
Will offer assessment of college application, essays, and if they will potentially be considered for scholarships!

Topics covered in this workshop include how to build the best college list, how to apply for college, how to write a great college admission essay, and how to be considered for scholarships! The class is student led, where I will offer my advice and expertise along the way with many relevant activities and lectures. I love discussions! Life after high school includes being open to talk about your future with others. The course will offer you an immense amount of support in preparing for your college journey!

As a recent college graduate myself, I was a recipient of many academic scholarships through my personal essays. I have an English degree, so I can easily help others encapsulate their voice in their best potential through their papers. Let's do this!

Lesson 1:
Building the Ultimate College List
 This lesson will focus primarily at exploring learner's school lists and the requirements to apply. This lesson is focused at ranking college listings in accordance to two terms: Dream and Reality. We will work through the requirements needed to reach the dream school possibilities, and show all of the positives that our realistic school choices have to offer!

Lesson 2:
Working on College Admission Essay
 This session will be dedicated at writing our college admission essays, questionnaires, and personal statements. Throughout the entire session, I will work with students independently through break out rooms, offering my peer reviews, edits, and revisions. At the end, I will allow people to share a portion of their essays if they want.

Pre-Requisites
Before enrolling in this course, make sure you have a plan to be open-minded, if you do not yet have your list of dream schools. In addition, some interests learners should have before joining is the desire to go to college.
Supply List
Working WI-FI, Video camera for Zoom is suggested but not required, pen/pencil, notebook, and Google Docs or Microsoft Word.
