Homework
1-2 hours per week. I provide grades to each essay submitted and presented during our tutoring sessions, and I also provide feedback to parents on homework completed for outside English courses in our sessions.Assessment
Proper grade evaluation after each writing prompt presented and comments always shared with parent!Class Experience
Tutoring topics include but are not limited to working on student's homework from their English courses, reading passages to hone in on your learner's reading comprehension skills, and focusing on some essential writing techniques to help your learner become a more effective writer! My sessions are always hands-on, allowing first for the student to showcase their learning styles so I structure my sessions that best suit them. I have been a tutor for three years now, and have found that what works the best with 4th and 5th grade students is starting the session with an intriguing passage with correlating questions, and also assigning them a new writing prompt each week. After completion of writing prompt, I always allow students in our sessions to share what they came up out loud. Then I will submit feedback, comments, and grades on your learner's writing each week. This writing method is very much hands-on, and has been so beneficial for so many of the clients I have worked with.
