US Grade 11 - 12
Looking for an extra set of eyes on your personal statement or supplemental essays for your college application? In this one-time class, students will receive one hour of one-on-one tutoring, including individualized feedback about content, style, development, and grammar. Students may submit their personal statement (up to 650 words,) up to 2 supplemental essays, and their activities and awards section. Students may also elect to submit up to 4 supplemental essays instead of a personal statement. The teacher will provide line-level and overall feedback on the essay(s) and will go over the feedback with the student during the session. The teacher will also recommend next steps in the revision process as needed. If students are unable to submit their essays before the start of the session, the teacher can conduct a live-read, which will entail going through the essay and offering suggestions based on the development and content. To get the best results of the session, though, students are strongly encouraged to submit their work at least 24 hours before the session.
Learning Goals
Students will receive feedback on their college application so that they know what is working well and what needs to be improved before submission.
