Build With Play-Doh - Learn Spanish for Beginners (Ages 6 -11)

Let's have fun creating while learning a new language: SPANISH!  We will begin class by watching a video and singing a song in Spanish.  Students will be introduced to the new vocabulary and simple sentence patterns in Spanish and English. There will be new vocabulary words introduced each class meeting. I will have the students repeat the words with me to help with proper pronunciation.  They will also see the words spelled out on an engaging presentation. Students will be able to identify the Spanish words by circling the correct pictures on the PowerPoint.  Students can then create their Play-Doh masterpieces while practicing the new vocabulary. Topics will change weekly.  We will practice greetings in every class (Hello, my name is ____.  Hola, mi llamo ______. ), as well as counting and colors. Learners will need at least three small cans of play-dough.  Students may use more colors for a more detailed model (4-6 cans of Play-Dough or clay).  Handouts will be provided before each class.  Students may print it out to use as a reference. I will talk and ask questions about the projects while creating them.  Students will share their finished masterpieces in class and use the new vocabulary with assistance!  No previous knowledge needed!  Join anytime you want!  More topics may be added.
