Class Experience

US Grade 6
When I was coaching, my players grades were very important. I offered and encouraged our players to attend 'study tables'. I once heard a coach say that he didn't call it study hall because that implies that someone sits back and put their feet up while a student sits at a desk and works by themselves. That is unacceptable to me. Study table means that we are sitting at the same table working together to get better. This class is much the same.

Need to add more time to your session? Need to schedule multiple times a week? Need to find a time outside of my available hours? Just message me and we can see what's possible!

***CLASS STRUCTURE***
1) Team Meeting- We use slides to guide each class in a smooth and organized way. Each class starts with the Team Meeting and Life Lesson of the Day. You can read more about those on my teaching profile.

2) Ice Breaker Check In- This is where we build our class community in a big way. This is the students chance to share anything going on, talk a little bit about goals we've set or accomplished, and we also have an Ice Breaker question of the week.

***CLASS INSPIRATION***
I started on Outschool with the Wrestling Talk Team and Football News with Math Reviews. Why wouldn't I jump on the chance to do something I love, teaching, and use my passions to help kids?! It was great. I soon found out that they do 1:1 tutoring. After I had been working with a student for awhile his parents asked if we could go from 30 minutes to a full hour. I said no problem! At the time we couldn't just adjust their time to an hour. That's when this class was born!
