1-2 hours per week. Learners will be working independently on the course work with instructional videos uploaded by the teacher weekly. Learners can reach out to the teacher with questions and are encouraged to share successes and even challenges as they work through them.Class Experience
Classes will include beginning range vocal exercises and learning how to practice and prepare a song to perform. I will post videos with instructions on how to improve tone, pitch, breath support, articulation, dynamics, and stage presence. Videos will be posted by Sunday, so learners have the full week to complete the course work. Questions can always be submitted in the classroom, and I will respond within 24 hours. Week 1 - Beginning vocal exercises, Vocal Range explanation, Introduction to Vocal Registers, choosing songs for the class duration, and expectations for class Week 2 - Review “Five Note Scales” exercise and give students samples of songs to sing through for practice time Week 3 - “Arpeggios” vocal scales and Breathing Exercise Teacher will also cover Articulation and Breath Support and basic microphone techniques Week 4 - Review Breathing Exercises and also Introduce a new vocal technique Week 5 - Discuss the strategy behind stage presence of songs and how to set up a successful practice routine with the tools learned so far Week 6 - Dynamics in singing and the importance of correct posture and balance Week 7 - Dipthongs and Tone Quality The teacher will also introduce a Chromatic Scale for practice Week 8 - Review of core curriculum and steps to take moving forward. Each learner will have a greater understanding of the basics behind singing and their unique voices.
Learning Goals
Learners will complete the course with an understanding of basic vocal skills and tools to help them continue in their craft.
