Group Vocal Lessons - Singing With Excellence - High School
Class experience
Students will learn together in an engaging format that will encourage participation and creativity with skills learned. Basics of vocal technique all the way to more intensive vocal workouts as they progress through the lessons. Students are encouraged to ask questions and suggest future topics that interest them. It’s also great when students can learn from each other and know that they’re not alone in vocal challenges.
The students will improve skills in four basic areas- Pitch Breathing Improved Tone Quality Vocal Range Classification and Voice Register Recognition Other areas of expected growth- Singing in front of an audience Proper stage and microphone technique Phrasing and vowel modification for multiple genres to promote a more well rounded singing approach
Sheila Gardner has over 34 years of performing experience and 14 years of teaching experience. She has led multiple student vocal groups that have performed in many types of venues and has many students involved in performing in their schools and communities.
Homework Offered
There will be some homework based upon topics discussed and each student’s individual singing goals1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Progress will be measured through in lesson time tracking as well as students sending an audio/video recording of their homework to the teacher for evaluation. This can be done through Outschool platform messaging.Grades Offered
Teacher will provide vocal exercises via email or through YouTube video suggestions.
