Intermediate Voice Lessons - Sing Like A Star!

In this 4 week class, we will work on transitioning from chest voice to head voice, head voice to chest voice, belting in both registers, proper breath support, and dynamics. Students may also choose a song to sing for the class.

What's included

4 live meetings
2 hrs 20 mins in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. Practicing the given exercises for the week and utilizing them within a song.
Assessment
We will assess progress weekly as we reinforce what we learned the previous week.

Class Experience

Students will have access to multiple vocal exercise tracks that will be provided by the teacher through email format. 
In class, we will be covering the following techniques:
Transitioning from chest to head voice 
Transitioning from head voice to chest voice 
Proper belting in both registers 
Breath Support
Dynamics 
Lip buzzes/trills 

Day 1- Introduction to vocal range classification exercises and choosing the right one for each student’s voice, explanation of chest/head voice, and breathing exercises 
Day 2- Review vocal range classification exercises by having each student sing through one that is most suited to his/her voice, review breathing techniques, and sing any songs that were chosen by students 
Day 3- Lip buzzes/trills, head voice/chest voice exercises, belting, and discuss dynamics (songs can also be sung again as time allows)
Day 4- Review of exercises and techniques learned over the course, questions from students about any techniques and exercises, and final performance of songs
Learning Goals
Students will learn proper vocal technique and proper strengthening exercises to support the voice as it transitions from chest voice to head voice, then back to chest voice. They’ll also learn how to use proper breathing techniques and dynamics.

I have been performing for over 30 years as a soloist or within a group. I began teaching in 2006, and I focus on performance based lessons. My teaching curriculum fuses contemporary methods with classical elements for well rounded vocal techniques. 
One of my favorite performances was on the Grand Ole Opry Stage when I was 19.
