I believe in sharing the joy of reading and love to help cultivate that in young readers. Reading is the foundation for all learning and exposing children to literature and providing positive reading experiences helps them succeed! I use my experience as a licensed PK -6 teacher, with a Master's in Reading, to develop and reinforce reading skills in our ongoing class. I have worked both in the classroom and the library setting and reading is truly a passion of mine.

Additionally, my work as an elementary school librarian allows me to draw on a variety of literacy activities to help make a positive reading experience. Your child will be drawn into these wonderful stories that share great lessons about kindness, friendship, and other kid friendly topics! I definitely have an animated and enthusiastic reading style to make the story engaging, upbeat, and a lot of fun!

As a mom of four little ones, I work hard to make sure lessons are fun and incorporate different learning styles. I work to provide high quality instruction and meet each learner where they are to help them feel confident!
paper/notebook and pencil
coloring supplies such as markers, crayons, or colored pencils

Optional
book of the week (see schedule)
printer for any teacher sent handouts - sheet will also be used on the screen for families with a printer

As a librarian and mom of four young children, I encourage families to preview the text prior to our class to gauge whether it is appropriate for their learner. Common Sense Media is a great tool to read book reviews and learn about various books.
