Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
In this self-paced class learners will be introduced to the basics of coins. Students will learn about identifying coins and their values. Each lesson will follow a similar format with a video featuring teacher instruction and practice for each coin.

The first four lessons will focus on one of the four main coins - penny, nickel, dime, and quarter. The fifth lesson will be a review of all four coins using several engaging games to allow students to show what they have learned.

This class is great for beginners who don’t have any experience with coins but can also be used as a refresher for students who need a little more practice on recognizing coins.

In addition to receiving one video for each lesson, students will also be provided with worksheets to practice each coin. These are optional, but highly recommended to help reinforce the learning.

At the end of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education and 9 years of teaching experience. I spent three years teaching Kindergarten and six teaching 2nd grade. While I enjoyed teaching in a public school setting, I decided to become a stay at home mom to my three young boys. Now I spend my time learning along with them.

My main teaching focus is geared towards early education and lower elementary. I feel it is very beneficial to teach children to enjoy learning at a young age. This will hopefully continue with them as content becomes increasingly more difficult. In addition to teaching younger students, I also enjoy doing book studies. I have been an avid reader since I was a child and would love to bring this love of reading to others as well! My goal for teaching is make learning fun through using games, interactive activities, children's literature, and arts and crafts.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, reading and going on trips (especially to Disney World)!

I look forward to meeting you soon!
