This class is taught in English.
Students will recall and be able to correctly pronounce all beginner vocabulary, as well as simple sentence structure in Hindi to introduce themselves, ask questions, and describe what they are doing.
I learned Hindi through language immersion-as I lived in New Delhi India for 3 years, and also took formal grammar and Hindi courses-3 years (it's an ongoing learning process thanks to my husband).
Homework Offered
Each week students will receive a new set of vocabulary flashcards which I recommend reviewing throughout the week to help with retention of the vocabulary. Reviewing 10-15 minutes per day will greatly help students be prepared for the following class. I will teach simple games that can be used at home with your students throughout the week to help them practice. Listening to or practicing the songs we learn in class will also greatly help learners retain their new vocabulary.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
One assessment will be done (informal) at the end of the class to see how much students can recall on their own! It will be done in the form of a game or activity.
Grades Offered
Students should either have completed Beginner Hindi Part 1 and 2 or have had previous Hindi experience.
Each week the supply list will be posted in the classroom, but you can expect basic supplies like crayons/markers, scissors, the PDF for the week to be printed, and glue sticks. If anything else is needed, I will communicate in advance!
