Homework
1 hour per week. Practicing new vocabulary and speaking Hindi in between classes will help students build a solid foundation and allow for us to move into new vocabulary each week. Homework is optional but highly recommended!Assessment
Informal assessments will be given at the beginning of each lesson and cumulative assessments after every six lessons so that I can determine what we need to focus on moving forward.Class Experience
In this engaging and fun Hindi class we will cover new vocabulary, practice conversation in Hindi and add new verbs and grammar weekly. If desired, we can also add a written component to learn the Hindi alphabet (Devanagari) as well. Feel free to contact me with your desired topics/learning goals and we will make them happen! One-on-One tutoring will be done in an engaging format including games, practice speaking, songs, and review. We will focus on verbal communication, expressing ourselves in Hindi, and being able to carry on a conversation once basic vocabulary is learned! Your student will receive resources, flashcards, and worksheets curated by me to help them practice their new words each week between classes. Each week we will build on what was covered the week before. Topics include: -Food -Animals -Verbs -Introductions -Colors -Opposites -Hindi Rhymes (just like you learned in School!) -Numbers/Counting -Days of The Week -My Family -Weather -Fruit -Vegetables -Parts of the Body -Family Relationships -My World -Greetings -Cultural Festivals/Holiday Vocabulary I look forward to seeing your learner in class soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University
I lived and worked as a teacher in New Delhi, India from 2017-2020. During that time I learned Hindi by language immersion as well as formal grammar and Hindi courses at a language school. After marrying my husband in 2019 (who was born and raised in New Delhi), I thankfully have a built-in Hindi teacher who continues to hone and correct my Hindi every day :). I have been teaching Hindi since 2020 when the pandemic hit, and have over 10 years of classroom experience with students 3-18 years old! I can also read and write Devanagari script.
