Students will learn to communicate and read in Hindi. Focus will be on varnmala (vowels and consonants of Hindi) Lesson 1 to 4 : Introduction of Hindi vowels (swar) and learn the sounds, words that begin with these vowels. We will practice how to introduce ourselves in Hindi , identify colours and animals in hindi and utensils in the kitchen Lesson 5 to 7: Hindi consonants (vyanjan) and learn the words that begin with these consonants. We will practice talking about our likes and dislikes and our family in Hindi. Lesson 8 to 12 : We do a through practice of the swar and vyanjan, identifying each one, worksheet practice , and learn about hindi food items , fruits and vegetables , body parts and play some games in hindi. We will cover simple topics and themes like Hindi colour names, numbers in Hindi , greetings , family members, transportation and identification of basic things in Hindi. The lessons will include songs, open discussions and conversations in order to help students practice talking in Hindi and usage of white board. The class flow will vary upon each learner's ability and the sessions will be interactive with videos, songs , conversations and games to play.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to identify the hindi alphabets, themes like colours and numbers in Hindi and start the reading process.
