Bake It 'til You Make It: A Nailed It Inspired Baking Competition
What's included
1 live meeting
1 hrs 20 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Inspired by the popular baking show "Nailed It," this class challenges young bakers with a mystery baking challenge to be completed during class! An ingredients and supply list will be sent to learners a week before class. Most ingredients will be things you already have in your pantry! The recipe will be shared with students the day before class. Learners will be challenged to bake a treat such as a cookie or cupcake and decorate it based on a picture shared with them at the beginning of class. After some brief introductions and kitchen safety tips, learners can begin baking on their own or follow along with me. Throughout the class, I will be watching students, asking questions, and giving them tips and hints to help them improve their bakes. We'll have some social time and talk about baking and other interests when bakes are cooking and/or cooling and we have down time. When time is up, learners will share what they made in a fun, stress-free setting. Challenges may vary from cakes, cookies, brownies, and more, but will always be at an age-appropriate difficulty and will not contain any expensive or hard to obtain ingredients. Learners are free to make accommodations for dietary restrictions or allergies. Just contact me before class and I will be happy to give substitution ideas. The only prior knowledge required is how to use basic appliances such as ovens and standing mixers/hand-mixers. That said, this is a challenge, so the more prior baking knowledge learners have, the more comfortable they may be. Because we will be using the oven, please ensure that your child can do so safely. Younger learners with less experience may be better suited to my Bake It 'Til You Make It Jr. class.

I have been baking since I was very young. Baking is one of my favorite hobbies and I am constantly challenging myself to work on more difficult projects. I also have some expertise in substitution due to dietary restrictions, as my daughter has severe allergies.
