This on-going class designed for three and four year old learners will provide a multi-sensory approach to introducing and practicing the English alphabet. The shape, name and sound of each letter will be introduced and learners will practice with hands-on activities in each class. Teacher created songs and stories along with gross motor activity will be incorporated. Social time and interaction between the teacher and learners in the class will be encouraged. Each class will begin with a welcome song and time to say hello to the the teacher and classmates. The letter for each class will be shown using a visual aid or flashcard. Learners will repeat the letter name and the letter sound. Objects will be shown for each letter and learners will be encouraged to show their own items for the letter. Learners will practice forming the letter with a sensory material. As students work, the teacher will review the letter name and sound with each learner. Class will end with a review of the day's letter and a good-bye song. The class will be structured as teacher facilitated and interactive. Learners will be engaged in games, discussions, songs and hands-on activities. My teaching style is relaxed and inclusive. I encourage learner participation and questions.
