Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will:
-Say the alphabet letter sounds.
-Identify the alphabet letter names.
-Connect words to the alphabet letter.
-Create the alphabet letter with a sensory material.
I have more than 20 years teaching kindergarten in a public school system. I possess a Bachelor and Master Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am certified to teach Birth to Kindergarten by the state of Georgia. I have taught students ages 3-12 virtually for 5 years. I have a proven track record for student success. I received Teacher Of the Year honors and have presented at regional and state conferences delivering kindergarten staff development to kindergarten teachers.
Learners are encouraged to practice alphabet letter names and sounds at home between classes.
Suggested materials for class will be provided each week and will include (depending on the week): -dough -salt tray -flour tray -interlocking bricks -dry cereal -white board/markers -other sensory materials based on the weekly learning target
On-going formative assessment and feedback will be provided to the learner and their families during class. The teacher will be available via email to answer questions and provide feedback regarding learner progress as requested.
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parent supervision is suggested in all classes. When sensory materials such as playdough and flour trays are needed in class parents should monitor learners to ensure the sensory material is not being consumed. Additional safety considerations will be suggested as needed in specific classes.
There are no additional websites, articles or outside sources used in the class off the Outschool platform.
