US Grade 4 - 7
This multi-day course will meet three times over one week and will introduce students to exponents and roots. By the end of the week, students will be able to define exponents and roots as well as solve and simplify exponents and roots with variables. Students should have a basic grasp of multiplication tables as well as a familiarity with factoring to be prepared for this class. The student will be provided a guided notes worksheet that will be used during class to record definitions and examples. The worksheet can also be utilized for additional practice to do after the class is over. The following math concepts will be discussed: Day 1: Defining and Solving Exponents Day 2: Defining and Solving Roots Day 3: Simplifying Exponents and Roots with Variables No grades or formal assessments will be performed in this course.
