This multi-day course will meet three times over one week and will introduce students to exponents and roots. By the end of the week, students will be able to define exponents and roots as well as solve and simplify exponents and roots with variables. Students should have a basic grasp of multiplication tables as well as a familiarity with factoring to be prepared for this class. Students will practice solving multiple exponents.Lesson 2Defining and Solving RootsThis lesson explains what roots are and how we use them. Students will practice solving multiple roots.Lesson 3Simplifying Exponents and Roots with VariablesThis lesson explains how to simplify exponents and roots. Students will practice solving with and without variables.

Students will learn how to solve algebraic problems with exponents and/or roots.
I have a B.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of South Florida. I have experience teaching Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry in a public Middle School. I have 10+ years of experience as a math tutor for ages 11 to 18.
Homework Offered
Students will be provided optional homework between classes to further practice the skills they are learning in class. The homework should take approximately 15 to 25 minutes.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Students will be informally assessed through guided and practice problems.Grades Offered
The student will be provided a guided notes worksheet that will be used during class to record definitions and examples. The worksheet can also be utilized for additional practice problems after the class is over.
