Homework
1-2 hours per week. I may occasionally assign practice problems (no more than 3 to 4 questions per concept area). This will help me know if I can move on to the next topic or if I need to re-visit certain skills. Assigned practice problems help me determine if the student can demonstrate understanding and mastery without any teacher guidance.
Assessment
Students will be assessed through practice problems during the session and outside of the session. Students will also be encouraged to self-reflect to rate their level of understanding on various math skills.

Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 9
This is a one-on-one classroom style. As this is a private tutoring session, the learner will bring what they are studying and what they need additional support with. Once you sign up, you will receive an email with the following questions to help me better prepare to meet the needs of your learner:
What math is your learner currently taking?
What areas are they struggling in?
What are some pre-skills or current skills that should be focused on?
What is your child's preferred learning style (visual, auditory, written, or kinesthetic)?

What will the student learn?
The student can bring whatever they are struggling with in math. Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry students will receive additional support and enrichment through this tutoring sessions. Students can ask questions about integers, solving equations, formulas, sequences, functions, similarities, and more. I will send a message before the session to ask what your learner needs to focus on in their next meeting. The student may bring their own homework/assignments or I can provide additional practice problems.

What background knowledge is required?
No background knowledge is required. I will work with your student to help them master the skills they need to be successful in their math class.

What kind of homework is assigned?
I may occasionally assign practice problems (no more than 3 to 4 per concept area). This will help me know if I can move on to the next topic or if I need to re-visit certain skills. Assigned practice problems help me determine if the student can demonstrate understanding and mastery without any teacher guidance.
Learning Goals
Students will improve in their understanding and mastery of math skills that they are struggling with or need additional enrichment with.
