US Grade 6
Join us for this 5 week self-paced class as we review important concepts to prepare for 6th grade math! Students will have access to teacher videos demonstrating practice problems and explaining the concepts covered. We will utilize the classroom chat as well as have weekly homework through Khan Academy. Unit 1: Getting ready for ratios, rates, and percentages (Review: multiplication and division, units of measure, and fractions) Unit 2: Getting ready for arithmetic operations (Review: division, multi-digit multiplication, operations with decimals) Unit 3: Getting ready for negative numbers (Review: fractions on the number line and the coordinate plane) Unit 4: Getting ready for equations, expressions, and inequalities (Review: properties of multiplication, factors and multiples, prime and composite numbers) Unit 5: Getting ready for geometry (Review: area and perimeter, volume of prisms, and multiplying fractions) Students should have completed 5th grade math to enroll in this prep course as we will move at a fast-pace as we review and enhance understanding. Students will have 3 to 4 short assignments of less than 10 questions a week to check their understanding as we move through the material.
