Algebra 2 Prep: A 4-Week Intensive Course

Gear up for success in Algebra 2 and build a strong mathematical foundation with this intensive 4-week online course. Algebra 2 introduces advanced algebraic concepts essential for success in higher-level mathematics and various STEM disciplines. In this accelerated and focused program, students will review key algebraic topics from Algebra 1 while delving into new and challenging concepts to ensure readiness for Algebra 2.

Students will revisit fundamental algebraic concepts, deepen their understanding of advanced topics, and develop the problem-solving skills needed to excel in Algebra 2.

This 4-week refresher class will cover percentages, exponents, order of operations, solving equations, inequalities, slope, radicals, functions, polynomials, and the quadratic formula. 

Students must have prior knowledge of Algebra concepts. 

Each week, I will provide guided notes, homework, and answer keys. Homework is optional; I will leave it up to parents to choose what is best for their child. Students are encouraged to ask me to review any homework problems they don’t understand. The goal is for families to have the ability to tailor homework to their needs; students can do a portion of it, none of it, or even request more challenging practice.

During each class, students are encouraged to ask questions. Most of the class will review new lessons with guided notes and complete practice problems; students will have the opportunity to practice their skills in class and share their answers with me via private chat. Students will also have the opportunity to practice their skills on Delta Math.

Day 3: Solving equations and Solving a formula for a variable
Day 3: Functions, Domain, Range, Coordinate plane, Tables and Ordered Pairs
Day 4: Linear Equations and Point-slope formula
Day 5: Solving and Graphing Inequalities
Day 6:  Systems of Equations and Inequalities
Day 7:  Exponents, Radicals, Prime factorization
Day 8: Polynomials
Day 9: Factoring Polynomials
Day 10: Solving Quadratics 
Day 11: Quadratic Formula and Graphing 
Day 12: Other Functions
