Discover the mesmerizing world of Zentangle art and embark on a journey of mindfulness, creativity, and self-expression. Zentangle, a unique form of pattern drawing, offers a therapeutic outlet for artistic exploration and relaxation. In this immersive course, students will learn the fundamental principles and techniques of Zentangle art, allowing them to create intricate and captivating artworks while cultivating a sense of inner peace and tranquility. This class is designed to cater to beginners and experienced artists alike, offering a step-by-step approach to mastering Zentangle techniques and developing the skills needed to create beautiful and meaningful compositions. Each week we will engage in a fun, interactive learning experience. Learners will follow me as I demonstrate the patterns. Students will learn patterns during class to create a pattern guide for future use. Students can apply their new skills outside of class to the optional exercises I will provide. Benefits of Repetitive Pattern Drawing -The discovery that you can create, using simple lines and shapes, something unique and beautiful in about 15 minutes, even if you 'can’t' draw. -Creating something with just three basic tools: pencil, pen, and paper. -Developing the ability to reach a focused yet relaxed state while having fun using your creativity and imagination. - Students will receive a pattern template and several files throughout this course. I enjoy teaching STEM, history, and cross-curricular classes and am passionate about making classes engaging. I have a bachelor's in Computer Science and a Master's in Education. Before my move to education, I was a software engineer, and in my spare time, I Zentanlge and draw mandalas. I have been creating Zentangle-inspired art and drawing mandalas for over 12 years.
