Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 10
In this class, I'll re-teach and review Algebra 1 topics ranging from solving equations to polynomials to graphing. We will work on functions, including linear, quadratic, and exponential functions. Great class for reviewing Algebra 1 topics.

This is an ongoing course, so learners may enroll in or out each week depending on their specific learning needs and availability.

Mondays and Wednesdays will be primarily instructional; Tuesdays and Thursdays will be more for review. Your weekly subscription allows your learner to come to one, some, or all of these live sessions with me.

For each week's topic, I'll re-teach the basics on Mondays and do fresh examples and a little more depth on Wednesdays. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, learners may pop in for "office hours" to ask me questions or work through problems with the group and/or myself.

I'll provide learners with handouts as needed and practice problems to work on throughout each week.

On Thursdays, I'll post an assessment in the Outschool classroom. This is optional, at your preference, for your learner to complete. These are self-grading Google Forms assessments that I have created. Learners do not have to log in to take these or to see their results. These are for your home and family use as a free bonus from me.

I use scaffolded instruction, which simply means that I provide more support at the beginning and gradually students work more and more independently with each new problem. I provide guidance and feedback throughout the session.

I'm a certified high school math teacher with a master’s degree in Education, and I specialize in working with students who struggle with math. Read through my reviews and bio to get a better sense of my teaching style.
