What's included

2 live meetings
1 hrs 30 mins in-class hours per week
Homework
1-2 hours per week. There will be a worksheet for most classes that correspond with material learned. We also have textbook readings. A student should expect to spend about an hour for each class on homework (two hours total a week).
Assessment
Quizzes and two tests for the course. Quizzes are online and can be taken an unlimited amount of times (there are a couple exceptions throughout the semester where a quiz cannot be taken online such as when a diagram is required to be drawn.)
Grading
Parents can request their student's grade at any point in the course. Quizzes are offered throughout the course and students have unlimited attempts. The two exams are on paper and will be turned in to be graded.

Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
This is a full year middle school Physical Science course that is "accelerated" to 15 weeks. We will meet twice a week and cover an entire year of Physical Science material at the middle school level.

Due to the accelerated nature of the course it does move quicker than a non accelerated course. For example, there would be two worksheets assigned every week opposed to one.

Homework is assigned throughout the year for students to practice the material they are learning in class. These are worksheets and practice problems that are graded on completion.

Quizzes are given throughout the course for students to check their understanding. These quizzes are online and generally 8-12 questions.

An exam is given at the middle and end of the course.

This course is appropriate for students who are in middle school and there are no prerequisites. Students can enroll at any time in the course and I have included the dates below for parents to see where we are in the course.

After completing the following, we will loop back to the start of the topics.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I am Dr. K!

I have a PhD in Chemistry. I have over 10 years of teaching experience with both children and adults! I have taught thousands of classes in Biology, Chemistry, and some in between (Biochemistry, Ecology, etc).

My biggest philosophy behind teaching is making every concept applicable to the things around us. We can read a textbook and learn about atoms and bonds, but relating that to real world concepts is how we will really grasp the concepts in my classes.
