HELLO!!
Join us in this complete curriculum class for 3rd grade students to be well on their way to learning all they need to know.  In this course you can expect phonics, science, and geography as well as social emotional learning, gross motor skills, fine motor skills,  mathematical concepts, problem solving, language and vocabulary, writing skills and listening skills.  In this class learners will join Wild and Unstructured Learning in an adventure to grow their minds with understanding and readiness for 4th grade. 
 In this 8 week flex course students can learn at their own pace.  This class is designed for children to complete their weekly work whenever is best for them.  Students will have interaction with teacher and students regularly in the classroom.  Students will have homework and will be encouraged to participate.  Interaction for this class will be high interaction.  Students will comment on other students work as well as post their work in the classroom for teacher and student comment.  Each week we will cover several 3rd grade topics.  We will go through a lot of material so best for parents to help and be close by. This class is for students who have been to 3rd grade and want a refresher or want to learn some 4th grade topics.  Here is a breakdown of our weeks!

Week 1-
-Grammar- PRONOUN-VERB AGREEMENT
-Spelling- Students will have a spelling list this week. 
-Math- Identifying Fractions
-Science- Simple Machines
-Writing- Which country would you most like to visit and why?


Week 2-
-Grammar- WHAT ARE ADJECTIVES and ARTICLES?
 -Spelling- Students will have a spelling list each week
-Math- Fractions on a Number Line
-Civics- Justice system and how it works in the United States. 
-Economics-Create a product and advertise it to the class (This will continue all term)
-Science- Types of Soil
-Reading- Comprehending different types of literature

Week 3-
-Reading-Comprehending different types of literature
-Spelling-  Students will have a spelling list each week
-Math-Equivalent Fractions
-Geography- Create your own island.  
-Writing- Name a skill you’d like to learn this year.
-Science- Animal Adaptations
-Economics- Create a product and advertise it to the class (This will continue all term)

Week 4-
-Grammar-ADJECTIVES THAT COMPARE
-Reading- Comprehending different types of literature
-Spelling-  Students will have a spelling list each week
-Math-  Comparing Fractions
-Science-Animal Characteristics
-Civics-  Branches of government


Week 5-
-Grammar-THE VERB -BE & HELPING VERBS
-Spelling- Students will have a spelling list each week
-Writing- What’s your proudest achievement?
-Math- Multi-Step Word Problems
-Economics-Create a product and advertise it to the class (This will continue all term)
-Science- Animal Habitats and Biomes

Week 6-
-Grammar-IRREGULAR VERBS
-Reading- Comprehending different types of literature
-Spelling- Students will have a spelling list each week
-Math- Multiplication Fluency
-Science-Basic Needs of Animals 


Week 7-
-Writing-Who is your best friend, and why are you such good buddies?
-Spelling- Students will have a spelling list each week
-Economics- Create a product and advertise it to the class (This will continue all term)
-Geography- Map Skills 
-Math-Division
-Science- Patterns of Movement

Week 8-
-Reading- Comprehending different types of literature
-Spelling- Students will have a spelling list each week
-Writing-Write about something that makes you smile
-Grammar- COMPLEX SENTENCES
-Science-All About Plants
-Math- 3-Digit Addition and Subtraction with Regrouping

Other Details

Parental Guidance
This class includes movement/science and craft. We will use scissors at times. We will do science experiments, and we will be moving around. Please make sure your child has a clear safe space to move around as well as comfortable shoes and clothes and water close by. We ask parent's to be with their children during science experiments and while crafting.
