Beginner - Advanced Level
***If you have never taken a class with me, please use code "carpenter10" for $10 off your first class*** These tutoring sessions are targeted for students that are struggling with their reading skills at any level; whether you are in elementary and need help improving your basic reading levels/comprehension skills or you are need help with your high school English course. Your reading and writing goals will be mastered with 1:1 tutoring. Based on the learner's needs, skills will include: 1. Phonics and phonemic awareness skills: 2. Reading fluency and comprehension skills 3. Writing conventions, paragraphs and essays 4. Test taking skills We will cover any and all reading and writing skills the learner needs to improve on.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their reading and writing skills to meet their English goals at any level.

Learning Needs
All learner types will be valued and instruction will be tailored to meet the student's needs and learning goals. I am experienced teaching students with all kinds of learning disorders including Dyslexia.
Pre-Requisites
There are no prerequisite skills needed for this class. We will start at your child's current English level and build up the skills.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

The content in this course is a mix of content and lessons created by me using Google Apps and resources from Teacherspayteachers.com, Kahoot!, and Raz-Plus. Tutoring will be tailored to meet the learner's needs so instructional materials will vary as needed to meet the learning goal.

I have been a teacher for over 20 years in a variety of settings. I have been a certified teacher for the past ten years with my Bachelors and two M.Eds. I am a Reading Specialist and ESL Coordinator.
