Have you heard of Viszla? Felt the softness of a baby Pomeranian? Do you know what the Tibetan Mastiff is? How about a Yakutian? If you LOVE dogs like I do, You are in the right place!!!! Let's take an adventure! Get ready to dive into the world of dogs in this awesome class! For ages 9-13, The Puppy Study! A Dog Science and Behavior Study for Curious Kids! is a weekly science class where we will explore different dog breeds, learn about dog behaviors, discover the fascinating anatomy of our furry friends, and even talk about the breed's contributions to human society! Not to mention the SUPER CUTE PUPPIES! Whether you're a dog lover or just curious about canines, this class will be packed with fun facts and activity that bring out your inner dog expert. Come with us on a paw-some adventure! The Puppy study is a 35 minute easy and fun science class. Classes begin daily with an anatomy lesson, fun facts, games, and behavioral study of two breeds for the day. All dogs studied for the day will be under the same dog grouping. Worksheets for the class will be posted for printing and allow quick and easy note taking! Anatomy note: For the first half of the year, in our anatomy section we will be working on organs and soft tissues, around the 2nd half in January, we will be working on bones! :) PLEASE NOTE: FEATURED CLASS TOPICS FOR EACH WEEK ARE STILL IN DEVELOPMENT AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE SLIGHTLY Note to Parents, It doesn't happen often, but Due to some policy changes at YouTube, occasionally when I play a video from their platform, a 10second ad comes on beforehand. This is happening a lot with all teachers! I am working VERY HARD and diligently for a workaround. I know it is probably not a big deal, I know, I know…… but like to keep parents informed :) Class 1) Week of Sept 4: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Tibetan Mastiff and the Great Pyrenees Class 2) Week of Sept 11: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Clumber Spaniel and Cocker Spaniel Class 3)Week of Sept 18: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Afghan and Borzoi Class 4) Week of Sept 25: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Olde English Sheepdog and The Puli Class 5) Week of Oct 2 :The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Chow-Chow and Shar-Pei Class 6) Week of Oct 9: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and The Shih Tzu Class 7) Week of Oct 16: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Bedlington Terrier and the Bull Terrier Class 8) Week of Oct 23: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Class 9) Week of Oct 30: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Yakutian and The Akita Class 10) Week of Nov 6: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Labrador Retriever and the Golden Retriever Class 11)Week of Nov 13: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Beagle and the Basset Hound Class 12) Week of Nov 20: The Puppy Study Featured Topics: Neapolitan Mastiff and the Great Dane NOTE: Ongoing courses do not have an end date so new topics will be introduced in upcoming weeks. No prior knowledge is required. Just a pen and paper! While the class start time is listed, please patiently allow up to 5 minutes past start time in the waiting room before we get started so that most students can arrive and I can follow Outschool’s policies on allowing students to enter.

Parental Guidance
⚡ Fast-Paced & High-Energy Learning!
This class is fast-paced and interactive! Note-taking will be required. Some of my class sizes are larger, which keeps the energy high and allows shy students to feel more at ease participating.
If class size is a concern, please ensure you’re comfortable before registering. (For reference, I have successfully taught large classes of 20-30 students daily for the last 23 years! They’re in good hands! 😊)
⏳ Class Start Time & Waiting Room
While the class start time is listed, please allow up to 5 minutes past the start time in the waiting room before we begin. This ensures that most students can arrive before class starts and allows me to follow Outschool’s policies on student entry.
🐶 Lighthearted but Informative Content
Though this class will be lighthearted in nature, there may be occasional brief mentions of animal extinction to help students understand the diversity of dogs across different regions. These mentions will be kept minimal and age-appropriate to ensure an enjoyable learning experience.
🔬 Anatomy Section: Short Videos Inside a Dog’s Body!
Occasionally, during the anatomy section, we will show very short videos of scopes inside a dog’s body so students can see how their systems work—which is actually pretty cool! If your child is squeamish, please let me know in advance so I can try to accommodate.
📢 YouTube Ads Notice
It doesn’t happen often, but due to recent policy changes on YouTube, there may occasionally be a 10-second ad before I play a video in class. This is affecting many teachers, and I am working diligently to find a workaround. I know it’s probably not a big deal, but I like to keep parents informed! 😊
Enrollment & Payment Policies
💰 Discounted Enrollments
Discounted enrollments are not eligible for pausing or unenrolling.
If you pause more than once, you can continue the class, but must re-enroll at full price.
If you unenroll, you will need to rejoin at full price.
No transfers for discounted enrollments.
💳 Payment & Refund Policy
Outschool processes payments weekly (usually on Sundays).
If you miss a payment, you must re-enroll at full price—unfortunately, I can no longer create weekly manual links for missed payments.
Pausing your enrollment does not hold your seat in Outschool’s system.
New discounts are for new students only (not existing students). No transfers.
One discounted seat per family—additional enrollments must be at full price (unless you ask me ahead of time, in which case I will honor it!).
⏳ Missed Classes & Waitlisted Students
If a discounted enrollment student has missed 3 or more classes, I may need to offer their spot to a waitlisted student. The class is full, and there are others eager to join.
📺 Multiple Learners on One Screen
Siblings or multiple students can use the same screen, but each must be enrolled separately under their own Outschool profile.
🔄 Refund Policy
I strictly follow Outschool’s refund policy as it applies to this class. If you are outside the refund window, reach out to me, and as a courtesy, I will try to assist in another way—but there is no guarantee that an alternative arrangement can be made.
Final Note 💛
Most of you know me well by now and understand my heart. I am always happy to help and work with you, but let’s also be mindful of fairness so that we are not taking advantage of one another. 😊
Thank you for being part of this amazing learning adventure! 🐶🔬🌍🔎

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a child I wanted to be a veterinarian! My parents bought me every dog book and encyclopedia they could find! I became VERY well versed in all things dog! I read daily. I read the same books over and over for fun! I was obsessed! As a teenager my first job was in a pet shop where I took care of all of the various dogs and used my breed knowledge! I stayed there until I was an adult! As an adult, I have had many pets! You name it, I've had it! Although I never became a veterinarian, I still carry a lot of that information and knowledge! I still have my dog books from when I was little. My children all have their own dog encyclopedias as they gained a love for dogs as well. Our idea of fun is to watch dog shows and Cesar Milan, lol! We are very well versed!
I love poetry, art, music and different expressions of the human cultural experience!!! In my spare time I paint a lot! A lot can be learned through the music and artistic expression of people around the world.
Teaching is my passion, and for the past 22 years, I have been lucky to do what I love. I teach 3 classes totaling about 90 teenagers daily. I run a Multi-Cultural Homeschooling Group of over 200 families where I teach children ages 8-12 a variety of subjects. I am also a full-time homeschooling mom to my amazing 11-year-old daughter.
I have a passion to share what I know! In my classes I provide extraordinary experiences through unique use of humor and video during lessons making learning fun in our relaxed classroom setting.
I am always excited to learn new things! The best investment you can make is the one you make in yourself! I work consistently to improve my skills, and continuing professional training is absolutely an integral part. Through the year I take advanced instructor training courses to stay abreast of the current teaching methods and techniques available to prepare for fantastic individual learning opportunities. I pride myself on this.
