*If you do not see a time that works for you, please, request a new time! Do you love dogs? Do you love hearing about the heroic, funny, or interesting things dogs tend to do? This class is for you then because, each week, we will meet to learn about a Dog Breed of the Week and share news articles about dogs. Dog Breed of the Week We play a short Guess Who game with clues on our slide for the Dog Breed of the Week. The dogs breeds range from common to very rare breeds. Some examples of dog breeds included throughout the weeks are Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Dalmatian, Anatolian Shepherd, Mudi, Borzoi, Otterhound, Greyhound, Coton de Tulear, and more! I always encourage students to share any information they may already know about the breed. Students can request any breed they are interested in or want to learn more about. Before class, learners will use a safe website (link provided below in the sources tab and in the classroom) to search for an article. Choose one article and read it before class. I provide an optional Dog News Weekly organizer page students can use before class while reading the article. This organizer helps students organize what they want to share about their article during class. -We start class with a fun introduction slide, check in, and share. -Then, we learn about the Dog Breed of the Week (chosen by the learners on some occasions). Dog Breed of the Week begins with clues that students use to guess the dog breed. The dogs breeds range from common to very rare breeds. -Then, each learner will have an opportunity to share the article they found. I will be choosing a dog article/video to share myself. Articles are shared by my screen only and students have the option to read the article to everyone or have me read aloud. -If there is time, we end class with a fun dog related quiz, drawing, or game! These weekly classes for this class do not build upon previous weeks and learners are able to enroll and leave at any date. Class topics will be dictated weekly due to the "learner-directed" articles chosen. Learner Directed Discussion: Topics are dictated weekly depnding on articles chosen by learners. Student chosen articles do not have to match my weekly topics. Please check the schedule for class dates and times. Your questions about the class, safe-article websites, or anything else can be sent to me by clicking "Message Me" below. Thank you! Note: Due to this being a discussion/share class and per Outschool policy, please join the meeting within the first ten minutes.
Learning Goals
