Learners will have fun mixing together a simple candy dough from pre-measured ingredients. After washing our hands, we will then start to form our polar bear shapes. We will have a great time creating faces out of the dough. We will start class with a couple of minutes of introductions, making sure that everyone knows each other's names. Learners will be able to follow a simple recipe. Learners will be able to mix a dough. Learners will be able to roll dough in their hands to make balls and flatten them to form circles. Learners will be able to make polar bear candies to share with family or friends.
I have taught nursery and kindergarten, and also looked after early years children at a number of Summer camps. I was the counsellor in charge of the cooking groups for a couple of years of Summer camp. I enjoy baking in my free time.

Ingredients - Powdered sugar (known as confectioner's sugar or icing sugar in some countries), egg 15 mini candies (such as mini M&ms or chocolate chips) and food flavoring drops (optional). Equipment - mixing bowl, baking parchment (or foil, saran wrap or cling film) and a 'sharp' item to poke out the holes for your polar bears' eyes (suitable items include toothpicks, cocktail sticks, kebab sticks, knitting needles). Before class - Learners will need adult help prior to class to separate their egg white from their egg yoke and to measure the sugar.

This recipe is no-bake, learners are mixing and shaping dough; however, it is recommended that a responsible adult is in the same room as the learner (off camera) and ready to step in to help if necessary. Learners will need a 'sharp' item to poke out the holes for their polar bears' eyes, suitable items include toothpicks, cocktail sticks, kebab sticks, knitting needles - please select an item that you are happy for your learner to use. Learners will need adult help prior to class to separate their egg white from their egg yoke and to measure the sugar. Please be aware this recipe contains raw egg white.
