Multi-day class. Held Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

This course focuses on teaching students valuable social-emotional skills that promote confidence, self-awareness, and social intelligence. The aim is to equip students with foundational tools for managing emotions, especially self-management, without crossing into therapeutic or clinical instruction.

Each class provides worksheets and activities to help students practice recognizing and handling their emotions in healthy ways. Through discussions and exercises, students explore coping techniques for big feelings, such as anger, and learn positive ways to respond.

Calming and redirection strategies are introduced as helpful tools, not as clinical guidance. As the instructor, my role is to share supportive, age-appropriate techniques in a non-therapeutic environment. This course is strictly for educational enrichment and is not intended to replace professional guidance or therapy.

Important Note:
I teach (promote) social and emotional learning competencies as developed by CASEL - The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning.

This curriculum is designed to offer supportive techniques and tools to help children build emotional awareness and coping skills in a safe, non-clinical setting. At ages 7 to 12, children are still developing in their cognitive, emotional and behavioral growth, and may need gentle guidance from adults as they navigate social and emotional challenges. Disclaimer The activities and strategies presented in this program are for general support and enrichment only, not for clinical assessment or therapeutic intervention. If your child seems to struggle with emotional regulation or social skills beyond what is typical for their age, it may be beneficial to consult their teacher or a child mental health professional. Early consultation with a licensed professional can provide valuable insights and support as needed.

As an Enrichment Program Director and SEL Art Instructor, I bring over 30 years of experience working with youth in after-school and summer programs. Through my 501(c)(3) nonprofit and LLC, I partner with local agencies to introduce children to various art mediums, using creative expression to teach Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and essential life skills.

My approach combines art and SEL to offer therapeutic, non- clinical, engaging experiences that help children process emotions and gain confidence. Holding a bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership, a bachelor’s level background in Interior Design and Art Theory/History, and a master’s in Social-Emotional Learning, I am passionate about guiding young people through self-discovery and resilience-building. There’s nothing quite like seeing a child realize they can do something they once thought impossible, transforming "I can't" into "I did!"
