課堂經歷
During this 3 day class, learners will review what anger is, how we can recognize and acknowledge it, and the best, most positive ways we can move through anger. Learner to learner interaction is encouraged to enhance socialization skill development. The teacher will facilitate ongoing dialogue, and fun and interactive activities to help learners understand the concepts being taught. Scenario examples, videos, interactive games/activities, crafts, and other engaging materials will be utilized throughout the class. Class 1: Learners will discuss what anger is, what it feels like, and some example situations of when individuals may experience anger. We will watch a short video followed by a class discussion about the various ways individuals respond to situations that make them angry. We will review what some of the learners' current coping strategies are. Learners will also focus on what physiological symptoms occur within our bodies to alert us that we have become angry. Class 2: During this second class, we will briefly review what was discussed in class 1. We will focus on recognizing the early signs of anger, discuss when to employ, and review various positive coping strategies. During this class, we will use interactive materials and a book, to reinforce learning concepts. Class 3: In the third class, we will briefly review classes 1 and 2. Learners will focus on enhancing their repertoire of various coping strategies that can be utilized in a variety of situations and within different environments. We will discuss and practice these strategies. Each learner will have the option to make a "coping key chain" or a "coping strategies choice board." Learners do not need any previous skills or experience to participate in this class.
