課堂經歷
This is a one-time class for 90 minutes that teaches how to manage and control anger. By using activities students will practice what to do when they are angry. This class is 1 of 15 strategies using three anger management activities per class. This class #1, "This is How Anger Feels", focuses on three strategies: 1. Say Hi to Your Anger 2. Naming Our Emotions 3. How Does My Body feel? Students will learn where anger comes from and how to make it disappear when practicing what they learn through this class. I recommend taking all 15 courses when available to allow students more support to calm down and not let anger overtake their feelings. In order for students to overcome anger parents and teachers provide and additional resources and sometimes life long reminders to stay ahead of anger issues. Virtual rules will be acknowledged in the beginning of the class to review behavior rules and expectation to respect others and allow students to respond to the activity. Students will be asked to write questions to be used as a guide for homework. All activities will take 30 minutes to complete, 30 minutes for writing and answering questions, and 30 minutes will be used to allow student to explain how anger feels to them. In this class, my teaching style as a special education teacher allow all students to be heard as they deal with difficult emotions. Using bloom's taxonomy questioning to define, describe, recall, recognize, compare, and discuss outcomes of anger and behavior. Bloom's taxonomy is a set of three hierarchical models used to classify educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. When using this method of teaching it combines parts of a whole to Create, judging the value to information or ideas to Evaluate, looking at information into component parts to Analyze, apply facts, rules, and ideas to Apply, understand what the facts mean to understand, and recognizing what the facts mean to remember. Students will be able to write questions in the chat box or email me after class to ask any personal questions they to address the feelings of anger. I will give additional strategies such a behavior cards and have students to write what they do during anger. This allow students to self-reflect on the inappropriate behaviors. I use this in the classroom, which has proven to be very effective. If adults ignore the descriptive behaviors it sends a message to the child/student that the behavior is ok therefore, it must be acknowledged. Students will interact with video clips to review what anger looks like and discuss how the body reactions during anger. Students will learn how to meditate as a calming for anger and a way to a peaceful outcome. I will ask questions for discussion to exchange information with the class and student will answer the questions. No prior experience is required, many students in this age group are already working through anger and when looking at anger in another view it just might help them to combine behavioral strategies.
學習目標
Students will learn how to manage the behavior of anger and learn where it comes from by using self-control strategies. When I teach students how to recognize their undesired behaviors it makes them aware of the behavior and it gives them an opportunity to recognize how anger affects them and others. Then students can work on changing the behavior with positive supports.

教師專業知識和證書
As a special education teacher, I manage extreme behaviors in and out of the classroom. I have taken courses in my master’s program and attend yearly behavior management training. I apply behavior strategies to students with disabilities to teach them self-control and what to do when they are feeling stress, anxiety during transition, when they do not know how to express/communicate what they are feeling etc. In my teaching practice I use learning strategies to assess student’s needs, visuals to reach nonverbal students, words to encourage communication (talk, raise your hand, smile, etc.), conversation starters, hands on projects, and wait time for response.
