Beginner - Advanced Level
In this interactive and student-driven class, young photographers will learn how to transform their photos using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Each session starts with a discussion of the photos students have submitted before class, including their goals, questions, and creative ideas. The teacher will demonstrate how to achieve specific effects—like improving lighting, enhancing colors, removing distractions, and more—tailored to each student’s experience level and requests. Students are encouraged to join from a second device if they’d like to follow along and practice editing during class. Some computers can run Adobe programs and Zoom simultaneously; however, it may cause lag or slower performance. Many learners choose to watch the live demonstrations and then apply the techniques afterward at their own pace. Every student will have at least one image edited by the teacher in each session, with plenty of time to ask questions and explore new tools. While the teacher provides expert guidance and demonstrations, the class content is shaped by the photos, interests, and goals of the learners. 🔧 Learners can explore how to: Fix exposure, lighting, and color balance Crop and straighten images for better composition Remove blemishes, dust spots, or unwanted objects Add text, overlays, or creative effects Adjust sharpness and clarity Use layers and masks to create advanced edits Apply filters and presets for a unique style Combine multiple images or add fun elements to photos This class begins with one learner and will run for at least 3 weeks with a solo learner. If no other learners have enrolled by then, the section will be cancelled.
Learning Goals
Use key tools in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance and adjust photos, including exposure, color, and composition.
Apply creative and corrective edits such as spot removal, cropping, retouching, and stylistic effects.
