Reading with Fluency? What does it mean? 
In this lesson, we will discuss what it means to read fluently and accurately. 
Lesson 2
Types of Sentences
Students will learn about different types of sentences and the importance of using the correct punctation in both reading and writing. 
 Week 2
Lesson 3
Confidence in Reading
Learners will begin reading a passage out loud to the class. Each learner will take turns reading a paragraph or part of the passage. The goal for this lesson is to use a good volume, rhythm, and pace while reading.  We will also begin to analyze the theme of a story and discussing plot sequence. 
Lesson 4
Parts of Speech
In this lesson, we will be discussing different parts of speech and the importance it has in both reading and writing. We will end the lesson completing a MadLib and creating our own class story.  
 Week 3
Lesson 5
Get the Idea! 
Learners will begin reading a passage out loud to the class. Each learner will take turns reading a paragraph or part of the passage. The goal for this lesson is to use a good volume, rhythm, and pace while reading.  We will also be analyzing a passage's main idea and the supporting points. 
Lesson 6
Comprehension Check
After reading a passage, students will test their analytical thinking and understanding of the story with a series of questions. 
 Week 4
Lesson 7
Setting: Time & Place
Readers will begin analyzing and understanding the setting of a story. With a series of different settings, students will create their own short stories. 
Lesson 8
Showtime!
From the previous class, students have had the opportunity to write their own short story. It is time to showcase your own story. The last 7 classes, students have been strengthening their reading and writing skills.
