Welcome to Virtual Performing Arts Academy! We are a full-service virtual performing arts studio and we are so excited to teach your child. In this class, we will combine fluency, reading, and comprehension practice with acting and drama. This is a reader's theatre extravaganza! This class is perfect for budding actors working on their acting or those with no prior performing experience that just need some practice with public speaking and reading with emotion. The plays in this club are aimed at students with a 1st-2nd grade reading level. The class is formatted as follows: 1.) Physical and Vocal Warm-up - Students will get ready for their big performance 2.) Introduction to the story - including leading questions. 3.) Introduction to characters - act out some of the characters in the story 4.) Students will receive roles to read and we will read the story out loud. 5.) Comprehension questions/Activities 6. (Dependant on Time) 2nd read-through as a different role. 7. Take a bow The following plays will be studied: September 5-11: Cinderella - Original Story by: Charles Perrault, Adapted by VPAA September 12-18: Rapunzel - Original Story by: Brothers Grimm, Adapted by VPAA September 19-25: Little Red Riding Hood - Original Story by: Charles Perrault, Adapted by VPAA September 26-October 2: Jack and the Beanstalk - Original Story by: Henry Cole, Adapted by VPAA This class is taught by the following teachers: Ms. Nicole - MA in Education, Certified in Elementary Education and Theatre Ms. Kim - MA in Education, Certified in Reading, Elementary Education, and Dance Mr. Moshe - BA in English, English/ESL Teacher Ms. Kelsey - BA in English and Theatre, English/ESL Teacher

All of our teachers are professional performers with a minimum of a BA degree.
