Pet for Pete: Long E, Magic E (Silent E) for Beginning Readers and ESL

This single class is designed for young readers. The story is about a blue cat who loves to paint pictures of his new pet.  All resources and activities are online, so students can clearly see the text and visuals. I adapt my teaching to meet the need of my learners, so each session is unique to that group. 

In this class students will…
• Sing a warm-up song to introduce the topic and vocabulary.
• Play a word-reading game with fun visuals and sound effects
• Read a short story focusing on the target phonics skill.
• Use the whiteboard to write words with the target sound

If your child has a small whiteboard, please have it ready (with a marker and eraser) for a spelling game. If you do not have a whiteboard, don't worry. We can play the game another way.
