History Herald: Exploring the Cold War - US & Soviet Union Relations After WWII

In this multiday class, students will explore the background of the Cold War, the major events that happened, and the eventual outcome of the issues between the United States and the Soviet Union between 1945-1991.

We will work together through interactive presentation, discussion, and collaboration to explore the Cold War, the main reasons of the tensions, the key leaders, the differences between capitalism and communism, as well as the major events that occurred during this period. 

Week One- What is a Cold War and The Players/ Communism Versus Capitalism
Week Two- Berlin and Korea
Week Three - Vietnam and Cuba
Week Four - The End of the War


By the end of class, students will have a solid understanding of the Cold War, its motives, the consequences, and the effects it has had on the world, then and now. 

This class is a beginner class, so no prior experience is needed.
