Beginner - Intermediate Level
Don't let summer be a break from learning! Help your child prepare for the next school year. Join us for our "RACES" WRITING BOOT CAMP! In this 1 week/5-day course, students will learn and practice the "RACE" strategy for providing concise and informative short-answer responses. Using the "RACE" strategy helps students develop critical thinking skills, organize their thoughts, and express their ideas more effectively. Use code LEARN9L4PX5 to save $5 today! In the book, Pathways to the Common Core, Calkins et al., (2012) state that, “The ability to convey knowledge is becoming just as important as knowledge itself.” Please check the syllabus for topics that will be covered in class. Being able to provide concise and structured responses is important as students begin to read more in-depth and critically. Answering questions using the "RACE" strategy allows students to show their complete understanding of what they have read as well as the question being asked. We teach - Practice Makes Progress! After each class, students will be sent an optional after-class practice worksheet. These practices do not need to be sent back to us. We provide the answers. The worksheets are designed for you to see what your child is working on and how they are progressing. We are not just here for your students: we are also your learning partners and value your feedback and correspondence. We provide feedback, as well as our observations and suggestions from the class. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. In our classes, you will find kind, caring, and encouraging teachers who will work hard to ensure your child has a great experience and will be taught the objectives of the class. We are an organization so you may have several teachers to choose from. Take a moment to check out our profile where we highlight our teachers and their experience. Happy Learning!
