Students will learn about the history of the colonies leading up to the Declaration of Independence and the Declaration of Independence, itself. In week one, we will look at life and government in the colonies as well as the French and Indian War (also known as the Seven Years War). In week two, we will look at taxes pressed on the colonies as a result of the French and Indian War, colonial response and protest, the Olive Branch Petition and last but not least the Declaration of Independence and why it was made. Students will better understand why the Declaration was so unique and why it would be the model for France's later Revolution.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn the history surrounding the Declaration of Independence and the Declaration itself.
