¿Quién decide quién es el presidente? Una clase sobre el Colegio Electoral

In this two week course, students will learn about the Electoral College. In week one,  students will explore the Constitution and the parameters of the Electoral College. Students will engage in historical analysis of the Constitution and the set up of the Electoral College and engage in a  class discussion about why the Founders made the Electoral College (their purpose), how it affects the outcome of an election and will decide if it is still necessary today. Students will suggest what system should replace it if they disagree with it and this will lead to a conversation on the Amendment process and why it is so hard to pass an Amendment. In week 2, we will look at elections decided by the Electoral College such as "the Corrupt Bargain", Bush v Gore and Trump v Clinton.
