Looking to read with depth, thought, react, and connect? This class is an on-going experience where we will read about a variety of topics and situations, decide as a group what next reading adventure to take, with the thread of learning how to read for inquisition, question asking, making inferences and cross-connections. This is the synthesis in reading you have been looking for! TOPICS WE WILL COVER 1. Informational reading about travel, the ocean, space, science, music and math 2. Popular culture on T.V. Shows, popular fandom characters, latest trends 3. Novel literature such as CataStrophe, Stink, Cupcake Diaries and more 4. Historical literature to include Who Was? and specialty literature Participants must have in their possession a personal copy of the book unless the teacher otherwise is able to offer a copy of the single story used for the day. SAMPLE WEEKLY THEMES Month of March: Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing Month of April: Frindle Month of May: Persephone the Phony Graphic Novel Month of June: Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster Month of July: The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo

Leeanna has been an avid reader since her childhood assisting young learners of other families as well as her own. She has shared her talents in the early learning and elementary grades for 3 years in public school and now is our resident early learning supervisor ensuring our clients (young learners) and their families receive the best care. With an MBA and an undergraduate degree in management information systems (MIS), Leeanna has a critical eye for pulling out details and gathering nuances.
