Club de sonidos de letras maestras

In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to the letter sounds. This class meets once a week. Students can join this class at any time. Each week, we will focus on two letter sounds. The classes do not build upon each other. You are welcome to join anytime. 


**** BACKGROUND ****
Letter sounds are a foundational skill that students must master to be great readers. Research shows that it is best practice for students to learn and practice the letter sounds before introducing the letter names. In this class, we will only focus on the letter sounds. Mastering letter sounds prepares students for decoding words.

      - Are ready to learn the letter sounds


**** COURSE OVERVIEW *****
In this course, students will learn their letter sounds. I use direct instruction, research-based strategies, and interactive games to help students master each letter sound. 

In each class, we will ...
       - See the letter
       - Learn the letter sound
       - Look at pictures/words that begin with that letter
       - Practice writing the letter
       - Do some interactive activities together to practice the letter sound


**** AFTER CLASS ****
 After each class, I will post a handout with additional activities and games your child can do to continue practicing the letter sounds we worked on during class.
