In this creative writing class, students write two narrative stories. This class meets once a week. The classes do not build upon each other. You are welcome to join anytime.

In this class, students will …
 ⭐️ Be given a scenario
⭐️ Choose two people involved in the scenario
⭐️ Brainstorm about each person’s perspective
⭐️ Write two stories based each person’s perspective of the event
 ⭐️ Share

Below is a description of each class activity:

*** SCENARIO ***

At the beginning of each class, I will give students a scenario or event that has occurred. Students will discuss the different people who may be involved in the event.

Some of the events may include:
✏️ A broken window due to a baseball
 ✏️ A car crash
 ✏️ A lost puppy

*** CHOOSE ***

Students will choose two people who are part of this scenario. They will brainstorm and write their stories from the perspectives of these people.

*** BRAINSTORM ***

Students will brainstorm their stories by using graphic organizers. They will describe the event from the perspective of each person involved.

Students will brainstorm these ideas for each person:
  ⭐️ Character’s name
⭐️ Character’s descriptive viewpoint of the event
⭐️ Character’s feelings about the event

*** WRITE ***

Students will use their graphic organizers to write two stories about the scenario. Each story will be written from one character’s viewpoint of the event. As students are writing, I will provide support when needed.

*** SHARE ***

At the end of each class, students will share one of their narrative stories. If time permits, students can share both stories.

If students do not complete the stories during class, they may complete them after class.
