Have you ever wanted to make a sweater, but you're unsure of how and where to start? Let me help. In this class, we will spend 11 weeks learning how to create a simple Hexagon Granny Square sweater. I will teach different types of stitches needed for the project: -Slip Knot -Magic Circle -Double Crochet (specific to the use of the granny stitch) -Mattress Stitch -Ribbing I will also go over and discuss how to read a crochet diagram. This will help with future crochet projects. With the use of an overhead camera aimed at the project at hand, I will use multiple teaching methods to help create the best learning experience possible. These include auditory, visual, and kinesthetic methods. I like to adapt to whatever the specific student needs are for the project. Every week, I will teach the required stitch for that day's progression. We will then crochet and chat for the remainder of the class. This gives us the space to work continuously on the project and allows for any questions or challenges that may arise in class to be addressed. Homework will be assigned at the end of class each week to continue crocheting for at least 5 minutes daily. This class is for students with experience crocheting.

Hi there! My name is Tessa DeForge. I live in the beautiful state of Vermont with my husband, 2 silly dogs and 2 precocious cats. I graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2011 and hold a bachelor's in Art Education.
I am very passionate about education. I have taught in a traditional setting for 10 years as a 6-12 art teacher and as an early educator. I love to teach a multitude of things through art and play. Some of the classes I offer are: Art Social Group, Crochet Club, 1;1 Knitting and Crochet classes, as well as social groups, to name a few. I am always looking to expand on my class list. The skies the limit when it comes to art and I hope to have some more exciting classes up and running in the very near future.
