1 hour per week. If needed, homework may be given when a project needs to be finished after the ending of a lesson.Grading
I will use a rubric for each project. On this rubric page, three things will be graded: -Criteria -Use of Classroom Time -Objectives The students and I will fill these out for each assignment. How it works: The rubric has a scale of 1-7 (1=lowest to 7=highest) for each section on the page. Each of the sections represents Criteria, Use of Classroom Time, and Objective. It will be used for each assignment/project and will be filled out by both me and the student. Then the numbers will be added up at the bottom of the page and recorded in my grade book. At the end of the semester, these numbers will be averaged out and a final grade will be issued. ** I will also send a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course. If it is not needed, disregard the attachment. **Parents/guardians can also opt out of the rubric grading system- it is not a requirement to attend the class. It is only done if a grade is needed for the student's learning requirements. If you have any questions, please reach out. I'm happy to answer any questions or concerns regarding this.Class Experience
US Grade 7 - 10
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this 15-week class, we will explore the art of Paul Cezanne, George Seurat, and Vincent Van Gogh, as well as the art movements used in each of their work. At the beginning of class, I will discuss that unit's artist and a specific piece of art they have created. Then we will get into that week's assignment. As we begin our work on the weekly project, I will demonstrate and discuss what needs to be done, cover the materials needed, and get everyone started on their work. As I do this, I will make use of two cameras; a webcam and a document camera which will be aimed at my hands for the art demonstrations.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their knowledge of artists, art movements, and techniques.
