Hello friends! Do you like movies? Do you like animals? Well then this class is for you! In this class we will be combining zoology and fun movies. We will be learning about a new animal from a popular Disney movie each week. Walt Disney loved animals and would study them in depth in order to get them just right for the movies. Today the animators and writers at Disney still do the same thing in order to make their animals seem as real as possible. We will learn more about how they do this and about one or two animals each week. If your learner hasn't seen the movie previously that is totally fine! Your learner can expect to have fun and learn a lot during this class. Our class time will consist of: -Talking about the movie and seeing a clip of the animated animal in the movie. -Learn how the animators studied the animal and talk about why they may have chosen this particular animal for the film. -Seeing images and videos of the actual animal. -Seeing the animals location on a map. -Learning about the animals habitat, what they eat, how they communicate, their anatomy, how long they live and fun facts. -Talking about if this animal is endangered or extinct. ...and much more! Come join in and let's learn together! Here is a list of animals that we will be covering in the first weeks: Week 1: Sebastian the Crab (Little Mermaid) April 8 Week 2: Flounder the Fish (Little Mermaid) April 15 Week 3: Sven the Reindeer (Frozen) April 22 Week 4: Hei Hei the Chicken and Pua the Pig (Moana) April 29 Week 5: Pascal the Chameleon (Tangled, Rapunzel) May 6 Week 8: Dumbo the Elephant (Dumbo) May 13 Week 9: Abu the Monkey (Aladdin) May 20 Week 10: Timone the Meercat and Pumba the Warthog (Lion King) May 27 Week 11: Bambi the Deer (Bambi) May 3 More animals to come!

Welcome!
When students are interested in what they are doing, learning they will WANT to learn! I hope that your students will love to learn and become lifelong learners. I want all children to feel comfortable, engaged, encouraged and have fun in my classes I have worked with students from ages 0-14 for over 20 years. I have held several other jobs than teaching which I adored but at this point this is my passion.
My teaching experience comes from multiple sources. Online I have taught thousands of children overseas to learn English through VIPKid. VIPKid (now VIPTeacher) is known for their vigorous standards and training. I have also taught for an elite online program, called Synthesis. Synthesis is an elite program created by the one of the founders of Ad Astra. (Ad Astra is the school that Elon Musk created at SpaceX.) I have also taught thousands of children right here on Outschool since 2020.
Offline teaching experience comes from teaching at a Montessori pre-school, teaching swim and gym classes, summer camps and Sunday school. I also have taught students with a wide range of mental and physical abilities. All students are welcome in my classes and I am willing to make accommodations if requested.
My education consists of a BA in psychology, a BA in Conflict Resolution, TESL, TEOFL, over 40 online teaching certificates, mental health first aid certification, and palliative care certification.
I have two children who are everything to me. I homeschool them and we love going on adventures together. In my spare time I love travelling, baking, camping, Disney, swimming, the beach, water activities, working out, reading and all things full of sparkle and glitter! You can always find me taking a course or earning some kind of certificate.
Come join me and let's have an adventure together!
