The Zoology Club: Let's Learn About Animals and Make Weekly Crafts

In this ongoing class, students will learn about a new animal each week. We will complete a fun craft and play games each class. These classes are perfect for students who love zoology, science, nature, and art.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
In this ongoing class, students will learn about a new animal each week. The students will learn about the animal's physical characteristics, habitat, diet, and some fun facts. They will engage in discussions about the animal through a vibrant slide show. They will use their new knowledge to participate in games (trivia games, guessing games, etc...) They will complete a simple craft for each animal. Some examples of animals covered are: horses, bearded dragon lizards, lovebirds, polar bears, zebras, cheetahs, clown fish, etc...

Here is the breakdown of the weeks:

Week of December 1: Arctic Terns
Supplies Needed:
White paper (2 pieces)
A pencil and eraser
Coloring materials
Scissors
Glue
Fun extra things to add (white feathers, white beans, white or black pom poms, cotton balls)

Week of December 8: Sea Cucumbers
Week of December 15: Hedgehogs
Week of December 22: NO CLASS
Week of December 29: NO CLASS
Week of January 5: Armadillos
Week of January 12: Zebras
Week of January 19: Arctic Foxes
Week of January 26: Snow Leopards
Week of February 2: Polar Bears
Week of February 9: Penguins
Week of February 16: Raccoon Dogs
Week of February 23: Pangolins
Week of March 2: Beavers

Week of March 9: Zebras
Week of March 16: Koalas
Week of March 23: Gazelles
Week of March 30: Sloths





No prior knowledge about animals is required in order to enjoy these classes.

Supply List
A supply list will be sent out at least one week before each class.

Here are some examples of supplies you may need:

Construction paper
White paper
Markers/colored pencils/crayons
Scissors
Glue (stick or liquid)
Paint and paintbrushes

If you are ever missing any of the materials, just let me know! There are always alternatives, or you can simply draw the animal of the week.
