US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner Level
I utilize a wide range of instructional methods, including phonics, vocabulary building, reading comprehension strategies, and more. My approach is flexible and adapts to the learning style of each student. My tutoring sessions are designed to be interactive and enjoyable. I incorporate games, activities, and discussions to make learning fun and effective. We will start off with show and tell, then practice letter recognition and phonic mastery, then practice reading something about their favorite topic. This class will take place 4 days a week for a month. It has been shown that consistent practice daily will improve retention and mastery.

Learning Needs
Private lessons are individually tailored to meet the needs of the learners. I tailor my classes to kids with AuDHD, ASD, ADHD, Dyslexic, and all types of neurodiverse and reluctant learners.
Pre-Requisites
There are no prerequisite requirements for my private lessons, but it is required for the caregiver to communicate specific target areas with me prior to the first lesson.
Supply List
I may send handouts or copies of pages that can be printed off for the student so they can practice on at home if they wish. The most important part is I ask that you read, just 25 minutes, each day with your child. It will make a load of difference in retention.

I have been a special education/Reading Specialist in Washington State and California State for 10 years. I have had the opportunity to support and engage students with diverse learning needs. I have my Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling working one-on-one with youth and adults with a wide range of disabilities. I am a neurodiverse, homeschool teacher of 4 children with AuDHD/PDA/ Anxiety for over 9 years and have taught each of my children how to read. Their state mandated assessment scores are grades above their grade equivalent peers.
My experience has enabled me to develop a strong understanding of different instructional strategies to ensure that all students have the skills necessary for academic success. I am passionate about creating a positive classroom environment that is both supportive and engaging, where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and participating in discussions. With my expertise in Reading instruction, I strive to help each student develop a lifelong love for reading while achieving academic goals.
I believe stories make concepts more relatable to children. Stories can reach students in a way that makes them laugh, identify with others who are different from themselves, see things from a different perspective, or help them go on adventures when they are stuck where they are.
I have 4 children, 2 cats, 1 dog, many fish, and I will probably get some chickens. In my spare time, I sing in a semi-professional choir, I knit, I paint watercolors and acrylic art, and most importantly- I Read!!
If you are interested in a class and don't see a time that meets your needs, please send me with your time request. If your student needs more time to complete sections of the book, I am fine with extensions and giving a grade later, once complete. I look forward to meeting your learner in class!
