Welcome artists! This is a short and fun class designed to get young artists started in animation, specifically 2D digital animation! I will be demonstrating by using an ipad app called Rough Animator, but I will also discuss alternative (and some FREE) programs including FlipaClip, Krita, and Procreate. This intro lesson creates excitement in art/animation and boosts confidence so that students can come to the realization that animation is something they CAN do and CAN be good at, even if they don't know anything about animation yet or are just starting out in their creative journey. The first half of the class will be exploring the program and basics of animation and what makes 2D digital animation different from the other four types of animation. We will explore how the different programs work and then we will animate one or two short exercises together step-by-step.

Supply List
For 2D digital animation, students will need a phone, an ipad, or a computer to work with. There are a few free apps and websites that we will cover, but students ARE NOT required to have anything for this class. Students are more than welcome to simply watch and decide later on if they wish to try out any of the apps/programs we cover! What I use for my digital animations: -iPad Pro 12.5inch with Apple Pencil -Rough Animator App ($5) -Procreate App ($5) -Mac Computer -Wacom Tablet & Pen -Adobe Animate (Part of the Adobe CC account $20month)
