Beginner - Advanced Level

In this class, students will learn the basics of 2D character animation using Adobe Animate. We'll cover topics such as character design, keyframes, timing, motion, facial expressions, and simple lip sync. The class is structured as a hands-on, project-based experience where students create their own animated scenes step by step.

Each session includes a short demonstration, followed by time for students to work on their animations with my guidance. I use screen sharing, visual examples, and clear instructions to support all learning styles. Students will have the chance to ask questions, share their progress, and receive individual feedback in every class.

My teaching style is encouraging, supportive, and fun—focused on building skills while sparking creativity. No prior animation experience is required, just a curious mind and excitement to learn!

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to design and rig a simple 2D character in Adobe Animate.

Students will apply core animation principles like timing, squash and stretch, and anticipation.

Learning Needs

This class supports learners with ADHD, Dyslexia, and ASD through clear visuals, step-by-step guidance, and a flexible, creative pace. Lessons can be adjusted to fit individual needs.

Pre-Requisites

No prior animation experience is needed, but basic computer skills and a passion for drawing or storytelling will help students get the most out of the class.

Supply List

Learners will need:
– A computer with Adobe Animate installed (free trial or paid version available from Adobe's official site)
– A mouse or drawing tablet (optional but recommended for easier animation)
– Sketchbook or paper and pencil for planning ideas (optional)

All other learning materials will be provided by the instructor.

I specialize in Adobe Animate and have taught animation to students from K–12 in Latin America, the U.S., and Canada. I’ve worked in both classroom and online settings, focusing on making animation fun, accessible, and educational. I also have a background in art and music education, with over 10 years of experience teaching and mentoring young learners.
