US Grade 2 - 4
Are you ready to become a confident writer and storyteller? In this interactive class, students will learn the essential steps to write a biography that brings a person's life to light in an engaging and informative way. Through fun activities and guided instruction, students will: Understand the key steps in writing a biography, including how to research a person's life, organize information, and craft an engaging story. Learn how to structure a biography by focusing on key details such as early life, achievements, and impact. Develop important writing skills, such as writing clear and concise sentences, using descriptive language, and making connections between events in a person's life. Practice writing short biographies by researching famous figures, historical figures, or people they admire, and using their new skills to tell their stories in a creative and factual way. Experience the "I do, We do, You do" teaching model, where students first see the process demonstrated, then practice together, and finally apply what they've learned independently. Access an optional practice activity designed to help reinforce the skills they've gained, encouraging further exploration of the people they want to write about. By the end of this course, students will be confident in their ability to write clear and accurate biographies that tell the story of a person's life in an engaging way. Whether for school assignments, family projects, or personal exploration, this class will give students the tools to communicate effectively and thoughtfully in their writing. Join us and take your writing skills to the next level—telling the inspiring stories of those who have made a difference!

Learning Needs
This class is completely flexible to accommodate all unique needs.
Parental Guidance
Along with research, can come a surplus of information that could be troubling to some students. I will not be suggesting students write a biography about a person who may have a troubling past. However, the "You do" version of the class will allow students to choose a person they are interested in researching. Please be aware of who they may potentially choose and have an open conversation about the person they choose if you find it to be troubling.
Supply List
- Writing Utensil of choice - Paper or Notebook for students to write on Students will also have an optional printout they can have after class. It is not required to have this printed out after class.
