Students will learn the fundamental elements of novel writing, including character development, plot structure, world-building, dialogue, and narrative voice. By the end of the course, students will have the tools to start drafting their own novel or significantly enhance an existing project.
Throught these tutoring sessions, we will cover planning, characterization, world-building, dialogue and narrative voice, and editing.
This class is structured in the following way: on the first meeting, we will brainstorm ideas for a novel. Then the student will work during the week on refining the ideas or starting the first chapter. 24 hours before the tutoring session starts, the student will send me the draft of what was written in the week. Then on the tutoring session, we will workshop the piece and find where can the piece grow.
My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and hands-on. I encourage creativity and critical thinking, fostering a collaborative environment where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas. I aim to inspire confidence in each student's unique writing voice.
Learners will have multiple opportunities to interact with me. We will enagage on discussions or Q&A.
